Resort Riva del Sole

News 31 May 2018 : The return shuttle bus from the AVI venue to Fiumicino Airport on 1 June is finally scheduled at 1.00 pm.

AVI 2018 will be held in Castiglione della Pescaia, Tuscany, in Resort Riva del Sole. Surrounded by the magic Maremman pine forest on a surface of 27 hectares, directly by the seashore and with a private beach of 600 meters, Riva del Sole is situated right in heart of an area that offers exceptionally interesting aspects on landscape, history, archaeology and culture. Massa Marittima, Punta Ala, Castiglione della Pescaia, Vetulonia, Montalcino, Saturnia, Sovana, Pitigliano, the wild natural beauty of the Diaccia Botrona marsh and the National Park of Uccellina and then again Siena, Pisa, Florence, are just a few of the many places to visit.

Riva del Sole is a 4-star S Hotel, composed by 155 rooms, all with A/C, satellite TV, telephone, safe, minibar, hairdryer and all with balcony or terrace. The WiFi service is available in all public areas. In addition there is a 3-star residence composed by 182 apartments (two-room, three-room, and one-room studios). Private beach, Rasena SPA with 3 swimming pools, one of which with sea water, and the beauty & massage center, tennis center, five aside football, water sports, two jogging tracks (1520 meters and 1500 meters).

Special rates will be available for the attendees of AVI 2018 for the whole week, as well as special packages for those ones willing to travel with their own families. More information on the accomodation rates and booking procedures will be provided in the next weeks, after the submission deadline and before the early registration deadline.

By airplane

Distances from the airports

• Airport of Roma (Leonardo da Vinci) ca. 180 Km
• Airport of Pisa (Galileo Galilei) ca. 140 Km
• Airport of Firenze (Peretola) ca. 180 Km

A shuttle bus will be organized by the AVI 2018 Organization Committee on Monday 28 May (for reaching Riva del Sole from Leonardo da Vinci/Rome airport) and on 1 June (for getting back to Leonardo da Vinci airport). A specific section is available in the registration form to book such a shuttle bus.

Alternatively (on all other days/times), take the direct train to Roma Termini railway station, and then follow the instructions By train (see below - Grosseto railway station). Also persons landing at Firenze and Pisa should take a train and then follow the instructions By train (see below - Grosseto railway station).

Important : only one shuttle bus will be available, with a departure time in the airport around lunch time (on 28.5 - arrival time in Riva del Sole in the afternoon) and a leaving time just after the end of the conference (on 1.6 - arrival time in the airport at about 5 pm). Exact schedule will be defined on the basis of persons willing to use the service, in order to collect the most of interested persons and to accomodate different needs.

By train

Railway station of Grosseto (about 22 Km). From there, take the bus 1/G to Riva Del Sole (stop ID: G0013) - about 45 min (44 stops). A transfer service will be organized by the AVI 2018 Organization Committee from the Grosseto railway station to/from Riva del Sole in specific times (on 28.5 afternoon, on 29.5 in the morning, and on 1.6 in the morning) in order to accomodate specific needs and to collect the most of interested persons. A specific section is available in the registration form to book such a short-distance transfer service from/to Grosseto railway station to/from Riva del Sole.
